Dill is an aromatic herb widely used in both cooking and folk medicine. They originate from the Mediterranean and South Asia, where they have been cultivated for several thousand years. In ancient Egypt, dill was valued not only as a spice but also as a medicinal plant. The Romans believed that dill gave strength and stamina and used it in the diet of soldiers. Dill has become very popular in Lithuania due to its good growing climate and easy maintenance.
They are most commonly used in soups, salads, sauces, spreads, spice mixes and for flavouring pickles.
